Step V of Job Search Life Cycle (JSLC): Send Resumes
Finally, a status check of the application package
and the job application can be emailed or submitted online. Email attachments are
automatically done and online jobsites can be accessed within the tool with easy
features for cut and paste into the online jobsite textboxes. Also, status of job
application can be changed after the process is complete.
Clicking on a Saved Job will display a status of the application
package. It includes
the job descripton file, custom text resume file, custom Word resume file and the
custom cover letter file. Review the status and click on the link to see the actual
file. Go back to the respective Step to change if needed.
Click on Apply Online after selecting JobSite from dropdown. If the dropdown doesn't
have your website, add it using the manage Jobsites button. The Apply online button
should open up the Jobsite in the bottom part of the screen and then you can login
to your account. The cover letter and resume for this job
that you created in the
application package will be shown at the top of the screen so you can cut and paste
easily into the online application without switching screens.
Clicking on Apply by Email will prompt you for to change the name (if needed) of
the Resume attachment file. If a Word document exists, it will be attached to the
email, otherwise a text resume document will be attached. Your default email client
will open up with a new email screen with the resume file already attached. The
cover letter will already be copied to your PC's clipboard and you can paste it
(using Ctrl-V) into the main area of the email. Fill in the email id and Send.
Click on Set status to Applied in the application and you are done.
