Step I of Job Search Life Cycle
(JSLC): Find and Save Target Jobs
Job research on various jobsites like Monster,
HotJobs, Careerbuilder etc can be managed through this screen. A split screen with
a form on the top allows a user to save details of any interesting jobs. Users can
cut and paste job decriptions and details frm the bottom browser to the top form
very easily (without Alt tab switching of screens).
Select a job site from the dropdown and click on Load JobSite. Once the site loads,
start your research as you would in a normal browser. A number of popular JobSites
are preloaded in the software but users are not limited to this list. Users can
add their own Jobsites using the Manage Jobsites button. Users can even save a login
id and password for each JobSite which is then displayed on the screen.
Once a job is identified, users can add this job to their Saved Jobs list using
the form at the top. Please specify the Company name - Job title in the first field
of the form. This will be used as a title in the Saved Jobs list and also as the
default name of resumes later, so please be am accurate as possible. The Source,
location and date can be entered for reference. Assigning a Priority of High, Medium
and Low allows users to focus on Saved Jobs by priority later. While researching,
try to save as many jobs as possible and you can change the priority later if required.
The Job description field should be filled with the complete job description as
specified in the Job listing. This job description will be parsed automatically
in a later step to search for keywords. So, the more detail the better.
To see details of any saved jobs, click on the job on the left tree and its details
will be visible in the form on top where it can be modified.
