Step II of Job Search Life Cycle (JSLC): Create Multiple Base Resumes
Most users have 3 - 4 base resumes addressing
various strengths that are typically used as a starting point to customize for specific
job applications. This step allows users to store their base resumes inside this
software or create new base resumes. These base resumes will then be used to create
custom resumes for each job as we move along the job search life cycle.
A sample resume is loaded on startup. Click New and paste any existing resume that
you have in the space below. Enter a resume name and click on Save as to save your
base resume. Repeat for all your existing base resumes and / or create a new base
resume. name the resumes to be descriptive enough (based on specific strengths or
skills). All base resumes will show up in the dropdown list and can be edited.
Note:- After pasting the resume in the space below, adjust the spacing on the resume
if required. Also, all bullets (from an MS Word) will be converted to an "*". All
non-bullet lines (name, company names, dates, blank lines etc) should be left as
they are. To add any bullet lines,
start them with an "*". This format ensures proper
conversion to a Word document as we customize the resumes in a later stage of the
Job Search life Cycle (JSLC).
